The Great Depression, Recession and Stagnation in Full Historical Context

While we're on the subject of long-view economic history, let's look at the Great Depression, Great Recession and Great Stagnation in full global historical context.

This chart uses the same (world) economic data as the previous post. I used thin lines to mark the beginning and end of each "Great." Sorry it's so hard to see, but these are just really tiny periods of time. The blue line is technically slowing or even going down a tiny amount in these periods, but not by enough to be visible.

I don't recommend putting things in perspective like this too often. Occasionally seems good.
